Day 1 Job chapter 1-10

Job chapter 1-10. You can read it here http://biblehub.com/job/1-1.htm

As you read, feel how the tragedy unfolds. By the time Job's friends arrive, Job's whole appearance had changed and they wept and sat with him for seven days and night. As they begin to talk, each friend has a slightly different perspective. You may like to compare Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar or just respond to the change in Job.

Parker Palmer talks about depression, "What we usually learn, once we are there, is that there is no "fix" for the person who suffers, only the slow and painful process of walking through the suffering to whatever lies on the other side... There is no arm's-length "solution" for suffering, and people who offer such only add to the pain. But there is comfort and even healing in the presence of people who know how to be with others, how to be fully there." He really appreciated his friend who came every day at 4pm to massage his feet--to be present.
