Adventure 6 : After the Storm...

Adventure 6 : Judges 16-21 and Ruth

Samson was deceived by Delilah whom he loved which led to him losing his strength. In the relationship, Delilah acted out of spite and selfish ambition. Therefore, it makes me think of the importance of choosing wise and true friendships in our lives. It is important that we choose our friends wisely and that we invest our time and love with people who will lift us up. The company that we hang out and grow up with, also play an important part in making us who we are today. In the story of Ruth, we see a different kind of relationship, one built on mutual trust and understanding.

Naomi and Ruth went through suffering and pain in their life. But God had a beautiful plan and purpose for their lives. It's like the storm that comes before the rainbow. That God is there through the storms in our lives, through the painful and challenging times. With the plan and work of God, something lovely can come out of the hard times we go through. They got a happily ever after, with a loving family and was a part of the bloodline that gave birth to one of Israel's greatest king. Their happy ending came through having faith in the one true God.

There are times that we are the source of our own sufferings and pain. When that time comes, may we not draw away, but instead may we run to God so that he can hold us in his hands. He wants us to live the fulfilled, blessed life that he has meant for us. Don't be living life as a flightless chicken when we are meant to soar like a majestic eagle through  the sky.
